Major objectives and operational plan of Healthy Ageing Research Centre
Ideal goal: to become one of the prestigious scientific centres in the field of gerontology and healthy ageing in the region and the country
Overall goal: development of researches in the field of healthy ageing
Specific objectives:
1. Quantitative and qualitative development of researches in the field of ageing in terms of physical, psychological, cognitive, social and spiritual
Operational plan: increase the number of research projects of the centre from zero to 15 in the first year and rise annually by 30% in subsequent years
2. Improvement of science production by increasing the production of valid domestic and foreign papers
Operational plan: increase the number of fundamental and applied papers from zero to 100 in the first year
3. Improvement of national and international cooperation
Operational plan: Signing scientific cooperation memorandums with other research centres and relevant national and international organizations at least twice a year
Holding the International Congress on Healthy Ageing at least once in a five-year period
Holding conferences or workshops at least once a year
Holding meetings with experts from other geriatric research centres in the country every two years
4. Conducting fundamental-applied research to produce knowledge and help in solving regional and international problems in the field of healthy ageing in all clinical and fundamental fields
5. Providing appropriate conditions to train and employ human resources in the field of ageing
Operational plan: consultation to present appropriate organizational positions and increase it from zero to five in the first five years
Increase physical space and facilities of the center by 50% in the first five years
Admission of higher education students (healthy ageing) from zero to 5 in the first year and increase the number of admissions based on the needs of the country and available capacities in subsequent years
Admission of students of different levels to take short courses and familiarity with the field of elderly cohort study from zero to 75% in the first five years
6. Dissemination the knowledge of the society (including faculty members, students and other communities)
Action Plan: increase number of meetings, workshops, campaigns related to healthy ageing by 25% annually
7. Participation and consultation in local and national decision-making
8. Providing study opportunities for professors and students
9. Put more efforts to obtain a license to train graduate, postgraduate and research doctoral students in priority fields compatible with the needs of the country
10. Give advice and assistance to the clinical field of geriatrics
